Stay Healthy Beat COVID-19

Avoiding overeating, staying socially engaged and maintaining a good sleep habit are challenges many of us are facing amid the coronavirus pandemic. Right now, people are staying at home in fear of contracting the deadly virus and in an attempt to “flatten the curve”. Restaurants, schools, gyms and other public places all around the world are closed. As the world attempts to flatten the curve, most of us are feeling increasingly stressed while stuck at home. With this type of situation- anxiety, fear, social distancing, and increasingly difficult economic realities, we become increasingly stressed each day. Many are struggling to maintain healthy habits as we adjust to working from home.

Currently, there’s no approved vaccine yet to combat this deadly disease nor approved treatments available only test trials like the hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin drugs. However, these two drugs promise a very encouraging results against the coronavirus disease and are now gone through the approval process. With that in mind, there are ways that you can exactly do to avoid contracting the coronavirus disease or passing this dangerous disease to others.

Ways to stay well during this outbreak

  • Save your fist bumps, handshakes and high five for another day.
  • Use your knuckles for elevator buttons, keypads and doorbells.
  • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water after touching elevator buttons, ATMs, and money. You can also use hand sanitizers or alcohols if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your face, mouth or eyes. Make it a habit.
  • Ensure proper and adequate sleep, exercise and nutrition to keep your immune system working strong.
  • Cough or sneeze with a tissue then throw it right away. You can also use your elbow or inside your shirt. Do not forget to wash your hands or elbow after your cough or sneeze.
  • If you feel unwell stay at home and isolate yourself from other household members.
  • Coronavirus is fragile in the environment but they can survive on certain surfaces for a limited time. Sanitize work surfaces or home with EPA-approved disinfectants, soap, and diluted bleach water.
  • Practice social distancing to prevent contracting the coronavirus disease.

Social distancing tips

  • Avoid crowded crowds or crowded spaces.
  • Avoid all unnecessary travels.
  • Keep away from others who are sick.
  • Limit your contact with other people at least a 6-foot apart.
  • Stay at home when you are sick.
  • When grocery shopping, avoid peak hours and when you are there maintain 6 foot distance between other people.
  • Work at home. Don’t gather in public areas such as restaurants, gyms or any public events.
  • Don’t send your kids to daycare if your kid’s school has shut down.
  • Minimize your interaction with other people if you leave the house.
  • Avoid mass gatherings and assemblies.
  • If you still have to go to work, increase your physical space between workers. Reduce workplace social contacts. Stagger work schedules. Limit in-person meetings or lunch meetings with staff or after-work hangouts.

Staying on track with your weight loss goal while stuck at home

  • Make a meal plan to stick with-Just because you’re a few feet away from the kitchen doesn’t mean you can go in there anytime and come out with foods on your hand. Make a meal plan and stick with your plan by all means. This is one way to prevent you from gaining weight and one way to make sure your foods last longer as planned.
  • Eat foods that will keep you full– Include foods rich in protein, fiber and healthy fats at your every meal and snack to keep you satisfied. This way, you are less likely to eat low-nutrient, high-calorie foods that could cause weight gain.
  • Practice smart snacking– Snacking is inevitable especially when you’re stuck at home for quite sometimes. Picking up a little bit in between meals is totally fine but you can do this without derailing your weight loss goal. Snack on fruits and nut and not on sugary treats.
  • Get enough sleep– Sleep is an important part not only during weight loss but for overall health. Your body needs time to rest so it can function well and keep your immune system strong during this outbreak. Catching enough sleep every night helps curb bad food cravings too.

Staying active while maintaining social distancing

  • Outdoor exercise– Most gyms are closed so take your fitness into the fresh air outside. Consider kayaking or perhaps hiking if the weather permits.
  • Work on improving your general fitness– You can work on strengthening your core and cardiovascular condition by using home-based video workout, home gym or web-based exercise program.
  • Exercise using your body weight– You can incorporate a variety of movements without equipment. Try doing squats, yoga, burpees, pushups, and lunges.
  • Exercise by yourself or with a friend– Make sure you practice social distancing by choosing activities that allow you to maintain an appropriate distance between each other. Do your best but save your fist bumps or high fives for another day.

The combinations are endless and each meal can leave you full and satisfied.

You can also have one low calorie fruit and veggie for lunch or dinner. As for the carb option, you can have one piece of Melba Toast or Grissini stick per meal. Like any other diets you are not allowed to eat foods with added sugars like cakes, cookies, ice cream, and chocolates. This plan also doesn’t allow for carb-rich foods like pasta, bagel, donuts, and muffins.

HCG Diet and Apple Cider Vinegar?

An apple cider vinegar a day keeps unwanted fats away!

You all heard about Apple Cider Vinegar and all the things that it can do for the body. In fact, a detailed account exists about its uses way back hundreds of years ago. What is apple cider vinegar?

Apple cider vinegar is made up of fermented juice of crushed apples. It has been used since 400BC as a cure for many ailments. Apple cider vinegar contains a significant amount of acetic acids. In addition to acetic acid, apple cider vinegar has trace amounts of other acids, vitamins and minerals. Acetic acid, as the main component, is known to support weight loss.

Apple cider vinegar and the HCG Diet

Apple cider vinegar can help you lose weight. It has an anti-obesity property effect that can make you feel full and satiated. Simply mix your water or unsweetened fruit juices with a little amount of apple cider vinegar before drinking them. So, even when on a very low calorie diet, the compound in the vinegar will send message to your brain making it believe that it’s not hungry anymore. Subsequently, you eat lesser during your meal and this could help you manage your weight.

Apple cider vinegar can reduce the total amount of foods consumed when taken with a high carb meal. This makes you consume less food, around 200-275 calories lesser, towards the end of the day. Apple cider vinegar can reduce sugar cravings. The acetic acid in the vinegar regulates the blood sugar and insulin level thereby reducing sugar cravings.

If your weight plateau and want to get back on track or you are trying to maximize your weight loss result, simply add 2 tablespoon of apple cider on your drink, salad or main meal. Dilute it in an 8 oz. of water to avoid stomach discomfort. Add some lemon and sweetened it with stevia to remove the bitter taste.

The apple cider vinegar can aid in gradual weight loss but it takes a longer time for you to see these changes. You can speed up the process is when you try it along with the HCG Diet. The most effective way in having apple cider is before meals to help you feel fuller.

HCG Diet Round Two

Worrying about not reaching your goal weight? Then do a second round or a third or fourth round! It’s not ideal at all to aim for a maximum number of pounds in just one round. So, you can always do another round safely if you haven’t reached your weight loss goal or if you did not lose enough weight during your first attempt. The HCG hormone is an all-natural hormone, therefore making it safe and effective if you decide to do a second, third or even a fourth round. You can try as many rounds as you can on the HCG Diet with minimal to no side effects at all. You can try many rounds as long as you observe a break in between each round. How long to wait before doing a second round? Waiting time is very important before you jump right into the second round to get that sexy beach body thing faster. Waiting time or “breaks in between each round” is part of the HCG Diet protocol that you should not miss. You can’t past the 46 days or 23 days in a row.

You need at least a 6 weeks break. When the dieting part is complete, anywhere from a minimum of 23 days to a maximum of 46 days, proceed with the maintenance phase or the lock-in period of 3 weeks. After completing phase 3, you must wait for a minimum of 6 weeks before proceeding to the second round.

Your second round will be an open door for you to become more familiar with the diet protocols. It will be as effective as your first round and you can lose just as much weight as you did the first time if not more. It will also be easier for you since you are more familiar with the requirements and the protocol. Just keep in mind that the closer you are to getting into your weight loss goal, the tougher it will be for the pounds to shed.

Why take a break before the second round?

Skipping this important break and starting the next round prematurely will do no good to your diet. You will see no further weight loss and your weight loss success will start to decrease because your body has developed immunity to the effects of the hormone. When you take a break before doing the second round, you make sure your body is free from HCG. This also gives your body time to rejuvenate which is great for weight loss.

What to do during the break?

During the break continue to do the following:

  • Eat healthily– Eat healthy food during this break. Continue with the healthy eating pattern that you have established during the P2 and P3. Do not go overboard by eating more than the required calorie during the break or by going back to your old unhealthy eating habits and lifestyle.
  • Avoid temptations- Temptations can make it difficult for you to transition back to a very low calorie diet. You will only be in the best shape in making your transition to the 500 calorie diet on the next round if you are consuming a diet of mostly veggies, fruits and lean meat.
  • Exercise– Increase the time of your light exercises during the break to make sure you are still burning extra calories and keeping stress off. Do not do strenuous exercises as it can cause weight gain and stress. If you haven’t started any exercise plan, it’s a good idea to start one during your break.
  • Plan ahead– Create a meal plan during your break. Make your grocery shopping before you finally start your round 2.
  • Avoid using oil-based cosmetics– Avoid using cosmetics, lotions, moisturizers that are oil-based as this can cause you to gain weight during the break. If you have started introducing oil-based products back into your lifestyle, then stop.

Breaks for Multiple Rounds

When you want to do multiple rounds, your break must be lengthened each time.

  • Round 1 to round 2:       6 weeks break
  • Round 2 to round 3:       8 weeks break
  • Round 3 to round 4:       10 weeks break
  • Round 4 to round 5:       12 weeks break

For every successive round, 2 weeks is added. The number of rounds you make depends on the amount of fats you want to shed. If you are looking to lose more than 32 pounds you are recommended to do more than one round. However, if you do not have much weight to lose, 15 pounds or less, one round is enough to do the magic.

It is possible to lose 100 pounds safely with the HCG Diet as long as you follow the protocol properly. If you follow the breaks in between rounds, your weight loss will be much higher on average than most but if you will not observe break before proceeding to the second round, you will build immunity to the hormone making it less effective on your body anymore.

Resetting your metabolism

You will need multiple rounds to reset your metabolism. One round can certainly go a long way but it’s not enough to reset your metabolism. Doing multiple rounds on the HCG Diet is more effective in shedding those pounds and inches away and in resetting your metabolism. Every time you try an HCG Diet round, you get a metabolic boost that usually lasts longer. You will find that it easier for you to maintain a normal weight the more rounds you try.

Eating Out Tips While on the HCG Diet

Eating out, having a buffet meal either on a local restaurant or on a cruise, a wedding or simply on vacation in a large hotel can ring the warning bell in every dieter’s brain, telling them the danger ahead. However, eating out is somewhat possible even if you are in the second or the third phase of the HCG Diet. It’s easier to do when you are in the maintenance phase than in the very low calorie phase but there are a lot of things that you must be aware of before you hop inside the restaurant to order for your meal or head straight into the buffet table to get your food. Remember that the more you take control of your meal when you are eating out, the greater is your chance of eating out without ruining your diet plans. Regular eating versus buffet/restaurant eating

  • Restaurant / buffet eating are expensive and it’s very easy to overeat. You tend to order a large variety and amount of foods or pick a great assortment of foods on the buffet table.
  • You don’t have time to feel full from eating the soup and salad before you look up for the main course at the buffet table. You can finish eating the entire meal in a matter of 20 minutes without feeling full. The best thing to do is to slow down as you don’t want to be done in 20 minutes.
  • It’s natural for you to overeat since it’s acceptable to pile for food on your plate just like what others are doing. You can eat all the foods you can eat with no restrictions on the portion size or the number of choices.

Tips on eating out while on the HCG Diet

  1. Learn the requirements of the HCG Diet

Take time to know what’s allowed and what’s not allowed on the HCG Diet so that if you will encounter menus while eating out you know what and what not to put on your plate. Most foods are prohibited during the second phase and you are limited only 5000 calories per day. So, there isn’t much that you can have on your P2 but if you are careful you might be able to get a chance or ordering a small salad or another HCG Diet friendly menu item.

  • Have a list of the HCG Diet friendly food

This can serve as your reference and it will be easier for you to look into your list if you aren’t sure what to order.

  • Find a table as far away from the buffet table

The further you are from the table the less likely you will go for a second or a third round.

  • Use small plates

Use the smallest plate possible and place only two choices at a time. It’s okay to go back for a second round but remember to put 2 choices only. Ear only those foods that you don’t get to eat often. Also start with something more filling like soup or salad.

Phase 2 eating out tips

  1. No fats allowed. Most meats cook on restaurant even if their HCG Diet friendly are cook in some sort of fat making eating out on P2 impossible. However, you can order grilled meat with side salads. Avoid mixing veggies too. Grilled meat options must be plain. Avoid using sauces and marinades but you can top it with salt, pepper and lemon.
  2. Stevia to the rescue. Carry a packet of Stevia with you to enjoy a cool lemon ice tea or a hot coffee or tea with your meal.
  3. Have sparkling mineral water. You can’t have soda but you can add some flavored stevia into your sparkling mineral water to make your own version of soda.

Phase 3 eating out tips

  1. No sauces and gravies. Many restaurants would serve sugary sauces and thickeners but you must avoid them at all cause as sauces and gravies can mess up with your diet.
  2. No starchy orders. Avoid starchy sides like potatoes and bread. Oder for more veggies instead and top them with lemon juice, salt, pepper, spices and butter.
  3. Healthy fats, oils and any proteins are accepted but you have to watch for sugary marinades
  4. Order for a salad or for fresh fruits for dessert as they are easier to order rather than a full meal. This way, it would be easier for the restaurant to accommodate you and you will get a lot of control over what ingredients are included. You can have a poached chicken with cabbage and a few seasonings as long as you are careful with the portion size of the chicken.
