HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone produced by the placenta during early pregnancy and commonly used in pregnancy tests. Although FDA-approved for fertility treatments, HCG is also used off-label as a weight loss aid.
Doctors noticed that some pregnant women lost weight despite low-calorie intake. Combined with a very low-calorie diet (around 500 calories per day), HCG may help boost metabolism, reduce hunger, and promote rapid fat loss. It’s available as injections, drops, pellets, or sprays.
For weight loss, doses typically range from 125 IU to 175 IU daily, with 150 IU being a common starting point. Higher doses are used only for fertility purposes.
